Privacy Policy
Privacy at a glance
Health and meal details are used to provide VitalNu’s nutrition and wellness features. We do not use them for targeted advertising or sell them.
AI processing is needed for core meal planning. If you choose to continue with AI, information relevant to the feature is sent to VitalNu’s server and the AI provider configured for that feature.
You can turn off AI processing in Profile settings or delete your VitalNu account and its active server records in the app.
1. Who this policy covers
VitalNu is operated by Rajesh Prajapati (“VitalNu,” “we,” and “us”). This policy explains how we handle information when you use the VitalNu iOS app and its related services. For privacy questions or requests, email supportacappaai@icloud.com.
2. Information you provide or choose to connect
- Private device account: after you accept the app’s terms and privacy notice, VitalNu creates a private account using a random identifier and a credential stored in your device’s Keychain. You do not need to enter an email address or password to use the app. We also store the name you provide during onboarding. The server stores a hash of the generated credential, not the readable credential.
- Profile and wellness details: age, sex, height, weight, nutrition goals, health conditions, allergies, skin concerns, pregnancy or nursing status, whether a medication affects your food needs, and other information you choose to enter.
- Nutrition activity: meal and ingredient entries, food preferences, fridge items, saved plans, and logs.
- Content you send: chat messages, dictated text, meal or ingredient photos you select, and reports you submit about an AI response. A report includes the message you report and the reason you select.
- Apple Health: if you grant permission, VitalNu reads steps, active energy, and body weight to support nutrition features. VitalNu does not write data to Apple Health.
- Subscriptions: when subscriptions are enabled, Apple and RevenueCat process purchase and entitlement information, such as transaction and app-user identifiers. Apple handles payment details; VitalNu does not receive your payment card number.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and secure your private device account, save your profile and nutrition activity, calculate nutrition plans, provide the features you request, process subscriptions, respond to reports and support requests, and maintain the service.
VitalNu does not use health or meal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information.
4. AI features and service providers
AI processing is needed for core meal planning. If you allow it, information relevant to the feature you choose—including health goals, conditions or allergies, chat text, meal details, and photos—may be sent to VitalNu’s server and processed by the configured provider. Providers used by the service can include Microsoft Azure AI and Amazon Bedrock. The provider used depends on the feature and service configuration.
You can turn off AI processing at any time in Profile settings. AI-powered features will be unavailable while it is off. Turning it off stops new requests to AI features that require consent; it does not recall information already sent or remove any provider-held records. Provider processing and retention are also governed by the provider’s applicable terms.
When you choose voice dictation, Apple’s Speech framework processes captured audio for recognition and VitalNu receives the resulting text. See Apple’s dictation privacy details.
VitalNu’s backend is hosted on Microsoft Azure. We also use RevenueCat to support in-app subscription status. These providers process information needed to deliver their services under their respective terms and privacy practices: Microsoft Privacy Statement, AWS Privacy Notice, and RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
5. Storage, retention, and deletion
The app keeps working data on your device, including saved meal photos and generated meal images. After you accept the app’s terms and privacy notice, VitalNu creates a private device account and stores your profile, saved nutrition data, and reports on its server while that account is active.
Use Profile → Delete Account & Data to request deletion of your account and active VitalNu server records, including saved profile data and reports. After a successful server response, the app removes its local session, meal photos, generated meal images, and image cache. Deleting your VitalNu account does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage or cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings.
Information already sent to Apple, Microsoft Azure, Amazon, or RevenueCat is subject to those providers’ retention practices. Deleting your VitalNu account does not itself delete records held by those providers. We may retain information where required to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.
6. Your choices and requests
- Change AI processing consent in Profile settings.
- Change or revoke Apple Health permissions in the Health app or iOS Settings.
- Use Profile settings to delete your VitalNu account and associated active records.
- Contact us to request access to or correction of account information, or for other privacy questions.
Privacy rights vary by location. We will handle requests in accordance with applicable law.
7. Security
We use safeguards intended to protect information handled by VitalNu. No method of storing or transmitting information can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, its providers, or applicable requirements change. We will update the date at the top when we publish a revised version.
